So January is usually quite for gigs and it is again this year. THats nice... I literally was home like 8 days in December. There were gigs and vacations... Dublin, Amsterdam, San Juan, Puerto Rico... plenty of travel. Good times. I think its so valuable to see the world and the contrasts it provides. Puerto Rico on NYE was the best local place to be... mainly because of the weather. Ahhhh.. and the latin women arent too bad... neither is the ocean. It wasa great time with some great friends and the gig was REALLY good. So this month iI'm going to work on a new website design and have some new releases coming out... and a few to finish up. One of my new ones is getting a big remix treatment which I am excited about... so thats gonna be fun. Lets see what happens! Time to make the doughnuts!
Im obsessed with podcasting! 139 downloads in China this year! Wicked! I have about 11,000 subscribers but I wanna reach 100k! WHy not?! Its a free and fun way to get the music out there and have you all share the fun from cities around the world! So, SUBSCRIBE and then your itunes or musical player of choice will be automatically updated with the latest sets as we upload them... FOR FREE! :)
Ecuador... what can I say. Unreal. Lets just put it this way... Good times ensued with random bus trips into who knows where, casino winnings, great food, hot sauce, entering 'clubs' with armed soldiers at the doors paying $1 for entry which gave us a free GIANT beer, no sleeping before 8am, random house parties in 14th floor walk ups, salsa lessons by 35/19 year old mother daughter combos... the list goes on! Wow! I definitely wanna come back!
So we just landed in Ecuador... naturally there was a dirty little 10 year old boy begging for money in the bathroom in front of the stalls... and of course, all the fat americans were shopping for lighted snowmen and underwater cell phone carrying systems or laser hair growth scams in the sky mall spending more than this kid's family makes in a year. ahhh... reality... aint it a bitch? I took my friend Bobby down here for the trip. He is a fun guy and a trooper as we romped thru Burning Man this year like champs. We are excited. Oh, of course, the promoters went to run an errand dropping off tickets... it shouldnt take more than 25 minutes they said 90 minutes ago! :) Viva Latin America! Ahh, they just called. We are outty!
Ah, the end of a relaxing weekend in Toronto hanging with my peeps up there.. during one of the last few weekends when its decently warm up there. I am now enjoying the benefits of a fantastic Mexican chef making her famous enchiladas. This is a great way to conclude the weekend and a good start to next week. IM glad its gonna be warm. Happy to say that I have been filling the schedule nicely with gigs in Ecuador, New Orleans, NYC and even Philly. That one... well, lets push for a good one. I am playing the newly opened back small room of a club that is normally shit hop all night so we shall see. :) w oot woot.
